Kerin and me were mates from the day we met as wharfies at ports of auckland. He knew his way round and carried me along til i found my feet, his humour kept us laughing in the darkest of times he could always find something funny , even at 3am in the pouring rain 7 containers high . Kerin moved to tarinaki and we would chat on the phone , he was so kind he would turn up out of the blue with goodies for the kids , yak for a couple of hours then was gone, he got me into the coast, when we met i was in te awamutu and didnt have a place to bring the family , come to the coast he advised and i did and i stayed, he showed me where to go and not go . I called him Koro cos thats what he was. I miss him.
