RICHARDS, Bryan Anthony:
On Saturday 9 October 2021 our beautiful Bryan slipped away into the waiting arms of his beloved Coral. Bryan was a treasured Dad to Matthew, Priscilla, Paul, and John; a loved friend of Diane, Chris, Alex, and Mair; and simply ‘G’dad’ to a host of wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We would like to extend our deep gratitude to Strandon Health, Hospice Taranaki, and the staff and friends at Tainui Village for all their love and care of our dad. A private family celebration of a man who lived his life with great humour, compassion, integrity, and generosity will be held on Thursday 14 October 2021 at 10.30am. To remember Bryan, and the service he gave to others, we ask that you reach out to someone with friendship, an awkward hug, or baking. You are welcome to view his farewell via his tribute page www.eagars.co.nz/bryan.
In preference to flowers please consider a donation to Taranaki Alzheimer’s Association (15-3955-0003806-00).

Lynne and I were greatly saddened to learn of Brian’s death. I first met Brian (Bryan) when I worked at the Department of Internal Affairs. Our professional and personal association continued when he became the Department’s representative on the board of the New Zealand Lotteries Commission where I subsequently worked. He and Coral became very good and enduring friends. We live in Lower Hutt having moved from Karori, Wellington. We attribute the decision to move to our attendance at a birthday party in Lower Hutt in Carol’s honour. Having a little time to spare after the party we decided to explore the Western Hills. This prompted us to buy a home in the Western Hills where we have happily lived for some 29 years. Brian actively maintained his relationship with his extensive network of friends through his monthly “From Me to You” Dribble Sheet which we enjoyed. He was a great friend and devoted husband whose constant love for Coral was palpable. Alan Ross
With great sadness to hear of your passing. We remember fondly all our lovely times together over the years and know you are safe in the loving arms of Coral and the Lord. You will be missed dearly. Dorothea McKenzie
Bryan and Coral were good friends of my parents, Peter and Clare Munn, through Bryan and my father working together as civil servants. Bryan was a very sensitive and lovely man and I am happy for him that he is now at rest with Coral. He has had a long journey, the last part of it alone, and he will be at peace now. Therese
