PARSONS, Richard Alan:
Tragically taken from us far too soon at just 59 years, but fighting for what we believe in, choices, rights and freedom. Much loved partner of Marissa for 21 years. Dearly loved dad to Reed, Jade, and Kaycie-lee. Loved son of William (deceased) and Kathleen (deceased). Loved son in-law of Liz and Wayne. Much loved brother and brother in-law of Trish, Bob, Tony, Selina, Glenn, Dean, Lyndel and Miranda. Loved uncle of Luke, Lacey, Ash, Rachael, Nikki, Sarah, Kayla and Neo. Those attending Richard’s service, please come dressed in colour, as that is what he would want.

I knew Rick as a young boy. It stayed with me and Trish Mcdonagh in Sydney 1983. We did some jogging around the inner city. He was young and innocent. Trish was almost his mum. He was happy, vibrant and bags of energy. That’s the Rick I remember. A good kind person. RIP Tony Mcdonagh
Sorry I can't be with you all today, Corona has a lot to answer for. I never thought in a million years I would be doing this for you Ricky. My condolences go out to Marissa, Kaycie, Reed & Jade and to the other families who lost their love one. When mum was expecting Ricky, I was desperate for a sister, I had 2 brothers & didn't want another. Along came Ricky & what a blessing in disguise, he was a joy. Tony, Bob & I loved our little brother to bits. Ricky was a good, kind person with a big heart. He was a loving husband & father. I will miss him so much, even his cheesy jokes. Rest in peace Love you Sis XX
A caretaker by name and caretaker by nature. He cared for us all. I miss his unique dry sense of humour. It was a rare find, clearly refined by years of observing and experiencing human nature. His good humoured teasing is now missing from my day. Who could not forget his traffic sign on wheels. They say you can tell a man’s nature by his dog’s temperament, and anyone who met Richard's Coco knows that not only did she idolise him but she was as much a part of him as an extra limb. Her gentle affection was legendary within our Devon family, and mirrored Richard’s own nature.I fully expect him to be watching over us every day. I knew him all too briefly and I miss him.

Bro! It was awesome hanging out with you in New Plymouth doing the Performing Arts Course back in 1999-2000. Couldn't make it up North - was out of mobile coverage and totally missed it. Returning to the universe, e noho ra e hoa 🤙
We are so sorry that we cannot be there today to celebrate Richard's life. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Marissa and your family. We were privileged to know Richard and you can be proud of a man who was prepared to stand up for his beliefs. Stay strong. Chere and Malcolm
He was just so cool and so funny! I will never forget our many silly conversations and that no matter how many requests I made of him, nothing was ever a problem or an inconvenience. He was an absolute gem and it was a pleasure to know him. Much love to you all, Deb x
