We will always remember you Pete. I am so glad Ethan and Amy got to know you - and had the benefit of your wisdom and advice. I always appreciated your help and advice too. You were easy to talk to and always willing to offer your help - based on your years of experience managing the factory, the farm, and the Tawa Glen Cafe. You and Heather did so well with all you achieved together. You added value to every new venture you took on. You were a great handyman and tired to impart your practical knowledge to me (probably in vein but I still appreciated it). You loved your rugby and I have fond memories of watching games with you. You loved your politics and we had many interesting discussions about this with you, and always very balanced of course (let's just say you preferred the colour blue). You had many friends and enjoyed socialising - very much like your daughter (and my wife) Angela. Most all, however, you loved your family - and we all knew this is what you cherished most. You took a keen interest in every one of your grand children - and they all love you very much. I have told Amy and Ethan that you will be watching over them. Your memory and spirit lives on. Thank you, Pete, for everything.
Heather, Karl,Clare, Daniel,Angela and families, we were so sorry and sad to hear of Pete’s passing. Always remembered as a happy, loving and fun Pop. RIP Pete. With much love and hugs, Debra, Graeme, Molly, Jack and Rosie Howatson
