Eilleen was a maker of very fine fried bread, sewing extraordinaire and basketball ferret. Her favourite place was her garden, a love she learned from her mother. Mother (who knew best) of Elizabeth, Amber and her fur baby Jax, (ever-patient) wife of Keith, the favourite daughter of Mereana Moka and Frank Harris (according to her) and Taramai to her brothers and sisters.
Teacher, learner, coach, at peace.
He hono tangata e kore e motu; kāpā he taura waka e motu.
Eilleen will be taken home to Pukerata Marae, Otaua on Friday the 17th of December 2021 where she will be buried after a short service. Everyone is welcome.
Eileen will be leaving Hamilton at 7am on Friday 17th to arrive at BP Dairy flat for a comfort stop around 9am. She will then depart BP Dairy flat around 9:15am to arrive at Pukerata Marae for her 1pm service.
We are very sad that we cannot be there for this day. You are now at peace and in no longer in pain. Our thoughts are with you Keith, Amber and Elizabeth on this day may you treasure the memories you have. Lots of love Micheal Lobb, Jamahl Lobb, Tania lobb and family
Eilleen, I loved how you and Keith both stuck it out over the years. Together at a young age, with a baby on the way. Many thought you both crazy, but you made it work well. An awesome effort my baby sister. No more pain now Eilleen. Rest in peace. In reply he said: “Have you not read that the one who created them from the beginning made them male and female and said: ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and his mother and will stick to his wife, and the two will be one flesh’? So that they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has yoked together, let no man put apart.” (Mathew 19: 4-6) Phillip Harris 16 Dec 2021
Dear Eilleen, Remembering our basketball years together on and off the court. The great games we played and having you as a teammate were the best. You always had the safety cover, your relentless full court defence, down the lanes on offence and always ready for my pass out from the post. Your epic battles against Marie Poto whenever we played Auckland (the highlight of the game). The looks you gave Keith whenever he was reffing us. Enjoying our time off the court - laughing, staying in motels, feet up and hot drink in hand thinking “this is the life”. Dear friend I am remembering like it was yesterday. You will be dearly missed, rest in love. Carolyn xxx
Dear Eilleen, Remembering our basketball years together on and off the court. The great games we played as team mates were the best. You always had the safety covered, your relentless full court defence, you were always fast down the lanes on offence and waiting for my pass out. I fondly remember your epic battles against Marie Poto whenever we played Auckland, they were a highlight of the game. Also, the looks you gave Keith whenever he was reffing us and the call didn’t go our way. I feel lucky to have enjoyed time with you off court as well - Laughing, staying in motels with our feet up with a hot drink in hand, thinking “this is the life”… and it was. I’m remembering this like it was yesterday. Thank you for the good times and memories. You will be dearly missed. Rest In Love. Carolyn xxx
