Paddy, a beautiful woman who lived her faith. The Hayes family are privileged to have Moi in our family. Moi we love you and thinking of you.
Paddy a beautiful woman, mother, grandmother- kind, warm, caring and full of warmth and wisdom. May those beautiful Irish bright blue sparkling eyes Rest In Peace.
My mother, Gwen Deane, and Paddy came to NZ together with the British WAAF in the early 1950s. They have known each other for over 60 years. Mum is also at Amberlea Rest Home where they have both been looked after amazingly. As children we knew Paddy our whole lives, going to see them in Papatoetoe, then when they ran the shop in Matakana, and later when they lived in Warkworth. You were a great lady and will be sadly missed.
Antie paddy was a big part of my life, she was my second grandmother and I always loved to visit her and grandad in my childhood. She was kind and caring she will be missed by many.
Paddy was a beautiful woman and part of our Amberlea Family. The nurses called her “momma” and she was loved by all. We will miss her and her smile.
Paddy was a kind , gentle woman who lived her Christian faith. She touched the lives of many at the Warkworth Anglican parish which she and Wally joined in about 2004. Her reading of the Scriptures in church were a pure joy to listen to. Paddy mentored me with warmth and wisdom in my faith journey. How wise she was, and talented- yet humble.. Paddy was an 'anam cara' - a soul friend, to some most fortunate people. We were all delighted , but surprised, when she and Larry married so quickly! Her spirit was revived by love. Paddy will be remembered with much fondness. Thinking of Moira and all the family on the loss of dear Paddy. Dianne Hawken
Paddy was a special lady in so many ways, especially her love for people. Paddy and Wally were, as well as our favourite shop keepers, our families live in house parents for our 3 daughters several times when John and I - in our market gardening days - had short holidays - we came home to a spotless house and tins full of baking. Her input into the Matakana Sunday School was amazing, she painted, wrote plays and poems , gave away buckets of pears from their huge tree, helped run holiday craft programmes in Matakana Hall making candles or flower presses etc. She started a small theatre group IMPACT PLAYERS (in many places acting Christ's Teachings)and our first outreach was in Auckland Prison! Life at Totara Park was enjoyed by both Paddy and Wally and Paddy and Larry before moving to Amberleigh. A life lived well.
Thinking of you all at this sad time. I first meet Paddy when she and Wally had Matakana store. Lovely lady.
