Very sad to hear the passing of stan we always stopped by and saw stan and Shirley in hawera while passing through back to tauranga. As kids we spent alot of time with the Edgar's as they were our neiourbours in dives Ave on our back section. Some of my memories of stan and Shirley was always taking lollies from the top of the of there pantry and taking his carrots out of his garden. My older brother shane used to play cricket in our back section and more than once the ball went through their windows, when this happened you would see 5 or 6 kids run a mile before stan came out. He was very good to our family and as kids they both were the best neiourbours we could of wished for. Stan you will be sadly missed and we the Burgess family of hawera and tauranga appicate everything you and Shirley had done for us, even when you could be a grumpy old man lots of love matt
What a privilege to take part with you as you celebrated and farewelled a wonderful man.Wonderful memories, example and amazing legacy left for you all.Much love to you all. Paulette Berryman
Uncle Stan, I picture you grabbing hold of Aunty Shirl’s hand and riding off into the sunset together. Thank you for everything. I’ll never forget being held, head first, over a flushing toilet. It’s possibly one of the earliest memories I possess. No one could hold a candle to the mischief you got up to. Alan and Brenda, Gail and Paul, I’m so sorry I couldn’t be there. I watched the livestream (thanks so much for allowing that to happen) and it was a beautiful service. Your kids were all amazing, and I loved hearing your memories. I’m sending so much love to you all. Teresa
Uncle Stan Always great when you came to visit. Lovely for Mum to have spent so many wonderful times with you and Shirl. Many memories which all come back to an enduring sense of humuor and fun, a quick wit and an inextricable family connection. I'll miss you as a special uncle who featured in many memories of my life which I'll forever carry with me. Rest In Peace. Max Tie
What a lovely send off and so great to see Stan and Shirl reunited. Mum and Dad had some wonderful times with them both through golf, caravanning and just pure socializing. Will always remember the milk crates for carrying their home brews in - never to drink each others because one did not drink larger and one did not drink draught. ..................They would share the peanuts or chips but not the beer. Thank you Stan and Shirl for being such great friends to our family Love to you all Jan
Stan, I miss you now and forever. I recall I was having my first Gin with you and Shir at Palmy Gail&Paul home, it was a great moment. You smiling face, your kindness and your sense of humors always in my mind. Thank you so much. RIP 安息 LOVES FROM CHLOE.
To my wonderful brother Stan, who with his wife Shirl, showed us such wonderful hospitality over the whole of their married life. Took us up the mountain many times, golf at Te Gnutu, life on the farm, over all those years. We thank you so much. Sister Bette.
Uncle Stan, I will cherish the memories of our families spending time together. My next home visit to Mum, wont be the same without seeing you. Love you! Alan and Brenda, Gail and Paul, my heart goes out to you all at this very sad time. May the precious memories you all have, hold and comfort you. Much love and hugs. Cindy, Nigel, Josh and Ben
We remember you ever so fondly Stan. Our love to all the family, Louise and Neil.
Stan, you were a delight. I recall my first ever round of golf, with you, at Hawera Golf Club, in 1962. Shirl and the kids were at Opunake on holiday and I was "helping" you milking. Wonderful family holidays in Taranaki in the 60s. Your great sense of humour. Mum (Pat) loved her holidays in later years too, with you and Shirl. We will miss you. Love from us all. Andy, and Pat.
We'll all miss you Uncle Stan. There's sadness in our hearts to have to say goodbye today. One ,consolation Dad (Ted) , Pete and little brother Ron, wait your cheerful smile. Sending much love to all family , from Gloucestershire Vivienne Blake R I.P.
