Ron and Ingrid - what a lovely tribute. Memories come flooding back of the many holidays my dad, sister and I spent with you all. I reconnected with Tanta Ton and Oom Menno several years ago and have enjoyed updates on the family ever since. They both loved talking about you all. I laughed when I heard about Menno's driving. My dad got so stressed trying to keep up with him as Menno weaved in and out of traffic on our way to one holiday destination or an other. More then a few near misses. I missed seeing him on the 16th as I was passing thro'. He had just had his fall and was in hospital. I left a wee plant at reception for him thinking "I'll catch him next time". Next time will now have to be a little while longer. Love and blessings to all. And to Oom Menno - rest xxx
Heh Dad...I will miss you alot. I could always count on you for good advice. When I look back at your life I remember the good times we had and there were many, especially Whangamata, the shows at the founders theater, sailing, scouts etc. You have shaped many of my behaviors and how we live today We miss you bit will never forget you. Love you forever. We will catch up again at some stage.
Opa, I’ll always remember the last time I got to see you in person when you met Olivia, you kept apologising for not talking enough however you didn’t stop talking the entire time we were there! You have done so much for the family, for that I cannot thank you enough. You never failed to make me laugh and smile whenever we spoke and I will miss your unique sense of humour, even if you didn’t know you were being funny. I have countless memories of staying with you and oma, some interesting driving experiences with you behind the wheel, the worst sunburn of my life and a loving memory of you. Rest easy opa, love you, Brad xx
