Rob was married to my cousin Kathie. Always enjoyed our visits North to see Kathie and Rob when I took Kathie’s Aunty up for a visit. Rob was always a gentle, kind man. Always happy to see us snd always ready to share stories with us. We will remember Rob as a true gentleman. Sadly missed but always fondly remembered.
I first met Rob & Kathie when they joined Gateway Church. I will always remember Rob as a gentle, kind, caring Christian person. Praise God he is now at peace with his beloved Saviour. My thoughts & prayers are with Kathie & the family. Janet Furlong 10/1/22
What a wonderful privilege to know Rob. We are second cousins but only got to know Rob and Kathie in the last 30 years. Rob certainly was a man of great faith. He was a gentleman, kind and caring and gentle. He loved his Lord and Saviour and will now be safe in the loving arms of God. He loved his children and grandchildren and would always talk about them. Rob and his sister Betty had a close friendship and I know she is missing him now. Condolences to Kathie, Bruce and Heather and their families.
Such a privilege to have known Rob - a man of great faith - gentle and kind . Now with the Lord and free from suffering - such a blessing . Strength and comfort to dear Kathie . Joy Haine.
We have enjoyed fellowshipping with Rob and Kathie for many years. Rob had a deep faith and we will miss his insightful prayers and comments. We pray comfort and peace for Kathie in her loss.&
We have lost a dear friend in Rob, and treasure the memories we have of his long and fulfilled life. We thank God for the privilege of knowing him and learning so much of life's values and godly living from him. Rob was truly a "man of God" whom he loved and served and an example to many. Our prayers and thoughts are with his dear wife Kathie and Rob's precious family praying for Gods strength and daily sustainance may comfort them through the time of grieving. Ashley & Gillian Crampton
A gentle, patient man with a smile and a deep solid faith. Well done Rob. We extend our love and condolences to Kathie and the family. A sunset on earth but a sunrise in heaven for Rob. We'll meet again! Arna and Peter
We will always remember Rob for his deep faith in his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He truly was a gentleman with his gentle but strong character, his love for Kathie and family and his abiding friendship with so many. We look forward to seeing you again, Rob, in eternity. Well done, good and faithful servant.
A good life is a life well lived and Rob certainly did that. I am so sorry for your loss but I hope you can take comfort in your memories you had together. Thinking of you Mary McKay HBC Village
We remember Rob well from our visit from the UK. Camping out in the Red Beach Village in our campervan in winter, it was a delight to be able to visit you both and spend some quality time with you. I recall too my first visit when you were on the Coromandel and all the things we did - hiking, hot springs on the beach, enjoying friendship and fellowship together. Fond memories for me and for both of us. Rest in peace and may your legacy remain.
I remember Robert as a friend and one specially close to my late husband Noel. We met Robert ( and his first wife, Myrtle and the two energetic children, Bruce and Heather) when we worshiped together at Kaiwaka Open Brethren Church in Northland. Robert was an agricultural contractor and would stay with us during the week while he and my Noel, my husband, sprayed acres of Australian Sedge (using 24D and soda-chem kill I believe) and wooly nightshade on our farm on the edge of the inner Kaipara Harbour. After Myrtle's tragic death he cared for his family faithfully the best he knew how and was delighted to see them mature and marry. We also got to know Kathie, his second wife and visited them two or three times at the Red Beach Village where they lived for a number of year. They were great friends and always faithful in their love and service to one another and to the Lord. Yes, Robert's earthly life is over but his legacy lives on in his family. Praise the Lord for His goodness for 93 years. Ruth Linton Tauranga
