I didn't know Colin for very long, but got to know both Colin and Jocelyn a little when they attended Hope Presbyterian in Christchurch. He was a lovely man, a gentle soul and often after church on a Sunday we would have a chat and a bit of a giggle about something or other. My love and prayers to Jocelyn and family and may you all know God's grace at this time and be comforted by the knowledge that you will meet again. with love and blessings Doreen
Dear Aunty Jocelyn, Kathryn & Warwick, Jason & Brydee, Bradley & Lisa, Josiah, Lily, Eden & Izac. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Uncle Colin was a kind, jovial and loving man of God. We have many fond memories of time spent together and stories told of Aunty Jocelyn, Uncle Colin and Mum and Dad's very long friendship. One of our favourite memories was of Aunty Jocelyn and Uncle Colin's eagerness to visit us in Timaru to meet our son. Though Uncle Colin is no longer physically here he will remain in our hearts always. Love from, Matthew, Julie and Edwin

Colin has been an outstanding friend and brother where love has both eminated from his gracious life to his beloved Jocelyn, his wider family and to his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. So many from Oasis Hornby Baptist and the Hope Hornby Presbyterian Midweek Church’s extend our love and deepest sympathy to Jocelyn and her family and we pray that the service on Tuesday will be one which remembers the great loss Jocelyn, the family and we have all faced yet will also be a celebration of a most loving, humble and gracious man who is now at peace with His Lord, for which we rejoice and give thanks
Colin was my very dear cousin who always had a very kind heart . He cared a lot about others and was really generous. He also enjoyed driving and going on road trips. I will never forget being taken to the West Coast and also Akaroa . Above all he was someone who really loved God .
From George: Colin you were my best friend from Lincoln High School days. This culimated in my being best man at yours and Jocelyns marriage and you being best man when I married Sharron. Even when we lived in Australia having you both stay was so easy. Our friendship was cemented. I will miss you boy. From Sharron Colin I can't quite say our friendship has been as long as George's but it certainly spans over more than 50 years. Colin you won my love and respect for being a great friend and husband to Jocelyn, an amazing father and role model to Kathryn,Jason and Bradley. You lead by example and set a great benchmark for life for your children and grandchildren. Rest in peace Colin. Much love and hugs to you Jocelyn,Kathryn,Jason,Bradley and families. Sharron and George Hampton
