For Meredith, Scarlett, Abigail and Tayla. Sending heartfelt condolences to you all at this very sad time. No words can express the deep sadness I feel for you on your loss. I have many good memories of Ben: his awesome smile, English accent, thoughtfulness, beers, pizzas, cars and so much more. He will be missed but never forgotten. Hold him in your hearts, speak of him often and he will always be with you... My thoughts are with you all, love Freida
My sincerest condolences to Ben’s family for your tragic loss. Although I feel sad, I slowly start to smile as I recall my fond memories of Ben - including him being so proud he never once emptied the communal bin during his first year of Uni, finding his jacket under a pile of pizza boxes he thought he’d lost in his second year and moaning about Star Trek before sneaking down to watch it with me and Duncan. I admired his tenacity with whatever dodgy project he had on the go at the time and you never knew what he was going to say or do next which just added to the excitement. I will miss you.
I went to an event organised for Ben by Martin, Richard and his friends. He'd been kicked out of the house for the afternoon as Meredith's friends were having a baby shower there to celebrate Scarlet; so Ben's friends organised the male equivalent: a big group of his friends surprised him at a local pub to congratulate him and raise a glass or two in celebration. He had such an infectious smile and was clearly so over the moon as he was shortly to become a dad for the first time. I met my wife Emma at this celebration, and felt really honoured to have been made to feel so welcome at such an occasion. He was a wonderful man and will be missed. Ollie Seed

So saddened and shocked by the news, such a loss to everyone. I only knew Ben through our little homebrew group, but he was well liked & respected by us all. Bens English ales will be sadly missed, but not nearly as much as Ben himself. My condolences to Meredith and all the family.

It was a joy to work with Ben and I will always remember him for his professionalism and kindness. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Rest in peace
Years ago as I sat watching TV I gradually became aware of an acrid chemical haze filling the room. It was coming from the oven in the student house where Ben and I were living. He’d been preparing a pyrotechnic experiment that involved impregnating toilet roll with something flammable, drying it out in the oven, then setting it alight with spectacular results. Except he’d forgotten all about it and was in his bedroom as our whole house was slowly filling with smoke! This is how I’ll remember Ben. Almost always there was a project under way, they sometimes left scorch marks or hangovers… but never dull! I’ll miss you, Ben. My thoughts are with you Meredith and girls.
I am absolutely shocked & heartbroken on hearing of Ben's passing. I have never met a kinder and good-hearted soul. Words cannot express my grief and how much he will be missed. My thoughts are with you Meredith and your girls.
