To Karalyn, Todd and Shellie What an amazing Tribute to your Mum. Julie and Bruce were awesome people and long time friends. As kids growing up having wonderful holidays in Whangamata, visiting Bellblock in school holidays and then stopping in at Christmas on the way back to Auckland from Whanganui. All those long car and bus trips were well worth it. Our thoughts are with you all and I hope Dad, Bruce and Julie have already caught and having drinks over old times. Your Mum and Dad were both very special friends to my parents, Judy and Johnny. I remember staying at your place on Mangati Road, how welcome I always felt and your Mum's wonderful cooking - especially her amazing fudge cake which she taught me how to make. I still make it occasionally, but it never turns out quite the same as 'Mrs Parlane's'.. . Your Mum was so kind and caring with a wonderful sense of humour and that lovely infectious laugh.
