What a shock to see Fale has passed away! I had the pleasure of playing bowls with him in the Taranaki Junior team and we enjoyed so many great times in the ensuing years. He was the most gentle guy I have ever met and that laugh was so infectious. We know that his entire Family will be so very proud of him for the way he treated all people with dignity and respect. Since travelling to Brisbane some 33 years ago, I often had the pleasure of catching up with him when back in the Naki. Rest easy Fale :) Mike & Eileen XX

Sincerest condolences to Fale's family. Farley was such a kind and generous man who always had time to talk to my daughters and took an interest in what they were up to. He had such a infectious smile that could turn anyone's bad day into a better one. He will certainly be missed at Vogeltown Park. RIP with your beloved wife Fale.

Sharon Lilley

My heart goes out to your beautiful family from the loss of a truly lovely man, always smiling, always up for a chat, and a laugh. You and Gale were a memorable part of my life growing up that will never be forgotten. Rest in Love Fale.

What a beautiful service for a beautiful man. Fale was one of those quiet people that went about life without any fuss, but worked hard and enjoyed many successes. Of course, his legacy will live on through his family. He was for many years a highly competitive bowler in a sport, especially in Taranaki, that had been largely untouched by Polynesians. He became respected as he was competent. And he became popular because he treated the sport and people with the respect that everybody yearns for. A good guy. Josh Robertson was correct in highlighting the national junior title that Fale won. The Taranaki junior (five years or fewer experienced) side won the NZ title in 1982 and claimed the John Flett Trophy. Fale was part of the fours team in the seven-man side, along with a young Brian Baldwin, Emmett O'Brien and Amos Muggeridge. Baldwin summed up his feelings upon hearing of Fale's death by saying: "Oh wow; sad news; those were the good old 'junior' days."

I was very saddened to hear that our 'Rugby Man " Fale has passed. Fale was a great help to me personally, when I was coaching the under 19 / 20 teams some years ago with Wayne Darling. Fale was always cheerful, helpful and very much respected by all members of our teams. Rain or shine, you could always rely on Fale to be there. Just a top bloke and a man you could never replace. RIP Fale my friend. My condolonces to Aaron, Amy and families. Neville Lester

When we were growing up, Megan's dad was always the one the whole friend group wanted to adopt as their own second dad. Fale's love for his children and, later, his grandchildren and great grandchild, was so clear at every moment. Thank you Fale, for welcoming me into your home with a smile every visit (even when Megs and I might have done something a bit naughty), thank you for the laughs and chats. A great totara has fallen. Arohanui.

It was with much sadness that I learned of Fale's recent passing. I remember fondly the many hours we spent running around Vogeltown Park playing rugby touch for the excuse to enjoy a cold beer afterwards. Fale was one of nature's gentlemen with an infectious laugh and broad smile to match. It was always a pleasure to be in his company. Condolences to all his family. R.I.P. Fale. Graham Mora (Boppa).

Fale was a great man to work with, so many stories, some great ones about his younger days in Wellington. A brilliant work ethic, a patient teacher and a shark on the pool table. Away trips were always a great mix of hard work and fun evenings. He was a true inspiration to anyone fortunate enough to spend time with him. Condolences to the family, a huge loss.

Always a man with a smile and helpful advice, quite often given in a humourous way. He didn't seem to have a bad day not that he at least shared with anybody.
