Passed away on Sunday 13th of March 2022 after a long and courageous battle. Aged 84 years. Loving husband of Barbara for 60 years. Dearly loved father of Sue and Craig Burrell, Christine and Steve Duckett and Stephen and Tracey. Loved and respected granddad (aka Bang Bang) of Tom and Wieke (Netherlands), Harriet and Tae, Nick, and Victoria, Hayley and Jason, Lucy and Andrew, Sam, Holly and Jacob. Eldest brother of Janice and Jim, Ken, and Cathie.

Invited family and friends will celebrate Ian’s life at Eagars Te Henui Chapel, on Saturday 19th March 2022 at 10.30am. His wider community is invited to join us via the livestream.

I have enjoyed a long association with Ian through the building industry, and after retirement have had the privilege to get to know him better with the tramping club and have loved his wit and story telling. To Barbara and Family, We are saddened by the News of Ian’s passing.We got to know You People back in the “70s” when Fruit growing took off in Taranaki . A lot of us got into Kiwi Fruit and I was on the Taranaki Fruit Growers Association with Ian. A good down to Earth Kiwi Bloke Ian would do any thing to help anyone any where.
