Thinking of you all at this sad time. Your mum was such a kind and caring lady and will be dearly missed. The memories I have of Mrs Hucker, i will always treasure.
My adorable Aunty Betty, My no.2 Mum 😘 I will be forever saddened that I drove 3 hours to see you a month ago and covid lockdown blocked me by an hour. How empty and grief stricken I felt for days after not being allowed into the home. I didnt see you again but I was streaming your funeral from beginning to end. I felt connected to you. Mention of my name made me emotional and miss you so much. You were a special role model and you taught me many life skills that I still use today. But I haven't milked cows or looked after your kids in the last 55 years. :-) 2 of my set chores in Tariki. What a hard working, super organized, super capable lady who we all adored, even when we were reprimanded and put to work. "Delphine and Joy go and get those cows in please, then help Dad milk, I am having a night off" No discussion allowed. Kids or cows, same hard work but I loved it. Amazing memories of being an adopted Hucker. All my love Joy
