Dear Merle and all of the Coxhead families, my thoughts are with you all at such a sad time, Merle life is just so unfair at times, sending a big hug for lots of energy don't forget I am only a phone call away or if you would like me to pop out and see you any time it is not a problem. Lots of love Jean Hastie
Sorry to hear of Don's passing, one of the many McKecnie Metals personal. Remembered as a work mate, RIP Donald. Bob and Julie Fox
Feel so privileged to have been able to share in Donald's final service. Wonderful tribute to a kind and loving man that we were privileged to have as a neighbour for 16 years and a few months. So sorry not to have gotten to know you better, we would have had fun together. We'll remember you for your fastidiousness around your home. Riley and Brad will have their work cut out keeping the lawn and grounds looking as neat and tidy as you always did. Much love to you Heather, Nicci, Riley and Brad and your wider whanau. From the Henare/Matangi whanau at no. 17
Mate. So long and one of the good buggers. Always there when you need a chat and advices. To Heather and family. I know you will miss him so much but you really got the best out of Don but you will also miss him the most. W Well mate you rest in peace up there and keep hitting 6s. Willy & Lee
Met Donald through Value Timber. Always helpful and most pleasant to deal with. He will be sadly missed .Condolences to his wife and all his family. Neill Hamill, NPDC Parks Operations.
To Heather and family, On behalf of the Waitara Cricket Club: Our deepest sympathy to see we lost a top bloke. I hope they have big boundaries where Don is going, because if he's still swinging that tree trunk of a bat, they'll need a bigger one than the MCG - ironic he ended up working for a timber company, probably to find a plank!! Don was an awesome club man and Guy in general. Cheers Maurice Shaw Waitara Cricket.
Sincere condolences to Heather, Nicci, Brad & family for your loss. Donald was an incredible mentor, boss & friend. He taught me hundreds of little things that combined to make a huge difference in my life.
I had the fortune of dealing with Donald at Value Timber for 13 years. From the moment I dealt with him he always looked after me as if I was an important client, always going the distance to make sure I was looked after. He was always welcoming and honest. He's left some big boots to fill. He will be sorely missed by his customers. My utmost condolences go out to his family
Deepest sympathy to you all Donald was a great neighbor and a friend we will miss him god bless
To Heather & Family, Our deepest condolences from the Taranaki Referee Football Association. We first meet 42 years ago on a football pitch. I was the referee, apparently I wasn't always right and he would help me see the error in my judgement. He was the fastest man on the pitch and I know of no one who ever caught him. I have had the good fortune of getting timber from at Value Timber and getting his opinion on how I should do things and always asked if I knew what I was doing. And, "Don't you dare turn up with in 1/2 an hour of closing!!". An awesome guy, till we meet again and I get your expert advise .................... Cheers, Ian Ricketts.
