He served as an ambulance driver for nearly 30 years and police community volunteer and was an A grade mechanic who loved his model trains, lego and dogs.
Special thanks to Hospice and St John Ambulance for their help and support.
A private cremation has taken place.

Remembered as a friend and trusted colleague. Always had a treat in his pocket for the various children who visited the ambulance station. Was always ready to help with any mechanical problems with staff cars or ambulances. Fond memories of the years of service shared with Ron at the St John Ambulance Station in Pererika street Rotorua. Rest in peace Ron. You served your community with pride and honour. Your final call is now complete.
