Oh fred where to start from playing the ochordian to me as a little bugger to being all over puhoi pubs walls u will be truley missed and are qone of a kind human being ... WE LOVE U FRED
My sincere condolences to the Rauner family, fond memories of Fred growing up, he was always there with his big smile and eagerness to know how me and my kids were. Mum (Kath) spoke so often of Fred and about his time with my dad Herbie...the 'tom foolery' as she would call it. A link to the old ways has left this earth....gone but not forgotten.
Ill always remember the Sunday drives we did and the oddfellows mints you’d spoil us with! I’ll always remember your open arms at the door and big smiles every time we came for a visit. When I moved back to Auckland for a year to start my business and live with Dad, it meant I could save more money. You knew this & you made the generous gesture of passing on your car to me. It never seemed like a big deal to many people, but to me it’s made the world of difference and does every day. Being able to sell my own car at that time and use the funds got my business rolling. I don’t know if I’d have my business without your generosity, I wouldn’t have been able to get started and grow the way I did. Who knows where I’d be today without you, no dreams were ever silly, nor too big or too small in your mind and I’m so grateful to have grown up having a loving Grandfather like you. I will always remember you being everyone’s rock, and I know you and Grandma will be here watching over us today as we say goodbye for now. I’m so proud and lucky to be your Granddaughter, what an incredible life you have lived. Love you so much Grandad, Chelsea xxx
RIP Dad & Mum. What a beautiful 😍 ending to a long love story. 🕊️💐💘🌹🥂🍻 Love you both.xxx

Thank you Freddie for the wonderful memories; for the music, the many beers after shearing in Tahekeroa, your frequent visits to my building sites in Orewa, your gardening skills and work in Orewa for the Rodney District Council, for always being interested in my family. Will always remember you biking around the estuary and seeing you walking with your mate Vic Straka. Prayerful thanks. Kevin Straka
Rest in peace my beloved Grandad, Words at this time seem to fail me but you & grandma never did. Thankyou For Everything.
Dear Freddie. I will always cherish the times I shared with you and Granddad/Grandma usually over a beer or a cup of tea. Quite fitting but I think the last time we spoke was over a beer parked up in Rauner Rd, Tahekeroa. RIP mate.

Fred will always be remembered and respected for his dedication in preserving the history of his Bohemian ancestors by his music and dialect. Always a wealth of information and enjoyed talking about the old days. Lots of precious memories of June celebrations with his music and dancing. Will Always Be Remembered By The Puhoi Heritage Museum
My dear dad gave me the greatest gift anyone could give a daughter, you believed in me to honour a promise I made to you 23 years ago, to care for you in your home and never put you in care. Caring for you was not always easy, you were set in your ways and stubborn, strong willed, but I never gave up my promise, no matter how hard it became, because I loved you dad. It was a lonely journey for me at times, but I hung in there for you dad. I will always remember in my heart how your face lit up when I returned from the supermarket with a treat for you, and how you enjoyed your food so much. I know I did my absolute best for you as hospice and the doctor praised me for the exceptional care I gave you. I won’t forget your praise and thanks for looking after you, and your beaming smile. I sat and held you until you took your last breath. Rest In Peace dad, you deserve it. You loving daughter Coralie
My sincere condolences to Fred's entire family in the loss of a highly respected and loving gentleman. For some twenty years I shared a love of Bohemian music. Our dance band was unique lead by our by late friend Joe Tolhopf. Fred, you shared your passion with so many individuals and community organisations bringing much joy. The annual Puhoi Anniversary gathering each June in the Puhoi Pub will just not be the same without you. Whenever I hear an accordian play, I shall remember you. You were a special man with an amazing talent. R I P - Dave Parker
Dear Fred. So many great memories over many years of being neighbours on the farm at Tahekeroa. The hay making, family fun, music, drinking plenty of beers, and telling of many yarns. The friendship continued when mum and dad moved to Orewa to live opposite you. Rest In Peace mate Barry & Evelyn Straka & Family. 30th March 2022
Dear Fred shall miss seeing you in Puhoi Band, another Puhoi icon at rest, Condolences to my cousins Coralie, Sheree, Lance & Ian and their families ( cousin to my late Dad Stanley Brian Soutar ) RiP Fred 💕💐 safe travels
RIP Freddie. I remember the visits over the years; you riding your bike up to the houses dad was building for a look around. Enjoy Heaven. You and your amazing moustache will live on in our memories forever.
Dear Fred, remembering the days you would stop for a chat to bring us up to date with the latest in the neighbourhood. Also when you used to look after all the gardens for Rodney, you did such a fantastic job! A great man will be missed by many. RIP Bernadette and Kevin Straka
Uncle Fred ... Hopefully aunty Glennis welcomed you with open arms... Love from the le Grice family..
Now you can hang up your accordion, Freddie, Puhoi Band member and probably the last living speaker of our Puhoi Bohemian dialect.
Deepest sympathy to you all. May God Give him peace. He was a “true” Puhoi man in the best sense of all those qualities that entailed. No doubt he’ll be playing music up in heaven now and all up and dancing!
RIP Dad. Thanks for a life of great memories. We will all miss you so much. Love you dad. Give mum a huge hug from us all. You will be in our hearts for eternity. xxxx...
Our deepest condolences to all the family. What an icon of a gentleman, an absolute privilege to have known him.
