Tributes

Our wingman has gone. Graham was a leader in the Aviation Sports Club and an inspiration to many, many gliding club members. His wit, sharp mind, and sense of humour endeared our hearts to him. He was wise, and to sit and learn of things gliding and of life was a privilege. Graham cherished family, and his beloved wife, Carol - our hearts hurt along with theirs for though he was not family, we loved him as mates, and a fellow pilot. Our wingman has gone, but he will never be forgotten. Navige in aeternum, amice.

Graham, we are pleased that your hard-fought MND battle is now over, and glad that you had time to say a proper goodbye to the family before choosing to leave on your new adventure. Thank you for giving me three lovely godchildren and for looking after my old school friend Carol for 50-odd years. Your work here is done. Go well. Suzanne & Kelvin, Wellington
