"Dr Alan George Austin 1921-09-13 to 2017-07-11 Devoted, dearly loved inseparable husband of Enid Irene Austin. Father of Roger, Ruth and Peter. Grandfather of Kerrie, Emma, Zachary, Shelley and Caitlin. Great Grandfather of Isabelle, Chloe and Rosie. Passed away peacefully in his 96th year. A kind gentle soul with a heart of gold who devoted his long life to the needs of others. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, flying doctor to Great Barrier Island; respected psychiatrist at Carrington Hospital. Rest peacefully Alan, knowing you taught us well and we all take you with us in our daily lives. A heartfelt thank you to staff at Patrick Ferry Hospital for their kind respectful care of ‘’Doc”.
