"Pam Harrison told me about Carol and I tried to contact Lorraine but as I don't do Facebook I sort of came to a halt. Then I found this website and thought I 'd try and record my memories of " George ". The absolute life and soul of the party. I think my pals and I met "the girls" led by Carol in the mid 1980's when we used to holiday at the Red Lion,Cromer and they took us under their wings and showed us where the action was! I recall wild nights in bars and of course the annual Cromer Carnival Parade seen from the upstairs windows of John Olivers hair salon where they all worked - " You bring the booze boys and we'll provide the views". Then Carol married Graham and was kind enough to invite Christne and me to the wedding, another great do at the Roman Camp hosted by dear John Bridges. Then off to New Zealand. Christmas cards were exchanged. Graham and Carol had a family and for Chris and me retirement loomed. We left Sheffield and moved to Northrepps and then bought the Foundry Arms which we attempted to run for four years ( we still own it but lease it to Jason and Sarah who have made it a great success). During our time there Carol came over from NZ with her lovely friend Denise and with Lorraine and her husband and Glenda we had more good fun times during their holiday. Then a few years ago Graham and Carol came over to see their families and we spent a pleasant evening with them and Pam and Lew Harrison (another Cromer boy who became a matelot0. Graham, give our love to your family. I'm sure they have been a rock for you. The world has never been a fair place and Carol's early death came as a great shock. But rest assured she put a lot of smiles on a lot of faces with her great sense of fun and positive attitude. She is missed. If Lorraine or Glenda would care to raise a glass to George with me they can email me or telephone the Foundry Arms who will give them my number. God Bless"
