WAKEFIELD, Merle Lesley: Passed away 11th May 2022 with her loving daughter by her side at the Nelson Hospital, aged 87 years. Merle fought a good fight to the end. Loved wife of the late Basil, mother of the late Judith (Jude), and Helen. Nana of Alex and Georgia, and Braden and Reegan. Newly Great Nana of Franklin and Sasha. Mother figure and friend of the late Chrys Troy. Loved Aunty of all her nieces and nephews. It was so sad to read of Merle’s passing. I have known Merle from when I was at college and friend’s with the late Jude, and worked with her for a few years. She was an amazing, funny, lively lady who loved her family with passion. Helen I am sending you and her grandchildren big hugs ❤️
Very sad to read the passing of Merle we were neighbours for 30 years or more and she always had a chat over the fence. Quite often there was a bag of vege's hanging over the fence too. Deepest condolences to Merle's family. From the Schwass family
