Aunty Glor, my Mum’s sister and best friend. So many memories from childhood. I remember when I was 5 I lived in Otaki with you and Uncle Max, Paul, Trish and Bruce while Mum recovered from surgery. And later I remember Pahiatua, freezing winters, going to Palmerston North on the train and having lunch at a cafe. A big city experience for a little girl from Patea. Much to all the family, to the ones here and the ones you meet again at the heavenly homecoming. Love Karen xx
I know you said you would have loved to cuddle your latest great granddaughter Juni Mum, and like you asked I will certainly give her a massive cuddle on your behalf the very first opportunity I get. I know this remembrance will find its way to you and Dad. Luv always
My Nana, I received my Easter card from you just yesterday, it broke me, but I’m so grateful to have received it. A great sense of humour, sharp wit and I could always just chat with her and laugh, I didn’t find her hard to talk to at all. She inspired my art so much as a child, the many drawings I created at her kitchen table, were many. Picking lemons from her tree and still being told to get down and be careful last year at 42 years. The glass lollie jar in the cupboard, the Honey rice bubble treats she’d always deliver to Simon. I preferred the fish cakes. The dolls from Nana Kurta in the glass cabinet in the lounge that she’d say ‘you’ll be able to go to that country one day and wear a dress just like that if you want to’ She was quite the independent, capable and not just an intelligent young woman but a smart one when we spoke of her life before she married, the career girl, out on her own, and she always encouraged me to travel and live my life. I’d come home to visit and I’d say ‘see you next time Nana’ and she’d say ‘I bloody hope not dear, I’ve lived for far too bloody long’ and she’d laugh! She would go through photo albums and tell me stories of who the people were, how they were related to me and she’d remember everyone’s names from the early 1900’s or before up to current day. ……I was struggling with the names as there were so many, but her sharp mind didn’t skip a beat! The oysters we shared before I became allergic, she liked I loved them but was also happy when I couldn’t eat them anymore as it meant more Oysters for her, I’ll always battle her for whitebait though! I always saw her eyes light up when she saw me when I came home. I’ll cherish her being in my life and her spirit and the warmth I felt from her always. I love you forever Nana, give Grandad a cuddle for me x
To Nana, Would have loved to be there in person for your touching farewell. Will always remember you for your lollies, biscuits, puzzles, board games, and card shark ways. Lots of love from the Melbourne Tennants - Sean, Jala, and baby Juni.

Our thoughts are with you today as you farewell an incredible lady. We remember Aunty Glore for her lively determination, her walking everyday around to Nana’s and her fudge cake. She had such a strong bond with our Nana June and we are very thankful for everything they shared together - the crossword puzzles, the grocery bargain hunts and the love of their Kurta families.
