Bruce Naylor Hargreaves

Also known as "Bruce"

3 June 194918 May 2022

Passed away Wednesday morning 18th May after a long illness aged 72 years. Adored husband of Geraldine, loved father of Vicky and Karl, precious Poppa to Georgia and Jack, loved son of the late Clifford and Joan, beloved brother and brother-in-law to Judy and John and the late Sue and to his many nieces and nephews. He has found his wings and is now flying free.
Geraldine and Judy would like to express their deepest thanks to those members of family and the many friends who have been there for Bruce over the years of his battle, for all the times they have spent with him, laughed with him, taken him on adventures and cared for him as a friend and loved one. Your constant dedication has been amazing. You will be forever in our hearts.
They would also like to make a special mention to the amazing staff of Evelyn Page Retirement Village Care Unit who showed him such love and care.
Bruce will be at his home 1/5 Empire Rd Orewa on Friday and Saturday for close friends and family who may wish to say their goodbyes after which a private cremation will be held. In lieu of flowers donations to the Neurological Foundation of NZ to aid in research would be appreciated.

Dear Dino, So very sad you have lost your soul mate Bruce and we have lost our mate – a gentle giant with a heart of gold, a big smile, a very quick dry wit and a love of sport, beer, family and most of all, his loving wife. Sports wise we enjoyed Presidents rugby trips to Aus with Bruce which he helped organise, fund raise and lead. We recall Bruce going out of his way to welcome friends from the deep south who joined us on the first of these and many enjoyable hours on the golf course with him. Bruce took up golf in middle age and proved to be a natural with a calm temperament and great power and hand/eye co-ordination. When Bruce hit the ball it stayed hit! Bruce was a very genuine, fun guy and we will dearly miss him. Lots of love, Ron & Lyn Michel

Dear Geraldine and Bruce. Four years ago this weekend is a memory that will always be with us. “Blues on Broadbeach” what a great 3 day party we had. Lots of eating, drinking and dancing. Bruce, your beautiful smile never left your face. You and Geraldine made an amazing loving couple, who did everything together, right to the end. Fantastic memories of a wonderful, fun loving man. Lots of love. Sandra and Brian xx .
