Dear Deborah, Fiona, Lisa and families, so sad to hear of Beryl's sudden passing. I have so many good memories of growing up and visiting Uncle Colin and Aunty Beryl in Kakaramea, Opunake and Bell Block. Always lots of fun, laughter and great hugs. May she rest in peace. Thinking of you all. Andy Wards Andy, Odette, Gbelle and Grace Wards
Dear Deb, Fiona, Lisa and families An amazing service for a truely amazing lady. Beryl's zest for life, her sense of humour, openness and kindness will be forever missed. I have always considered Beryl an 'aunty' - she was always so loving to me, remembering birthdays and special times, and this has extended to Emily and Josh as well. She was always so interested in what they were doing and never forgot their birthdays. I have such fond memories of catching up at the farm and at Bell Block when we were a little younger! Visits were always filled with lots of love and laughter. A visit to Taranaki was never complete without seeing Beryl. Both Beryl and Colin have a very special place in my heart and will be remembered for their love, kindness and unwavering support for their immediate and extended family. Rest in peace dear Beryl. With all our love and thoughts Jo, Andrew, Emily and Josh x x x
To Hunt family Thinking of you all with the sad news of your loss of your dear mum. A Beautiful lady and had many chats with my dear dad (Sam) Love Lynette Collins (nee Drought)
Deb, Lisa, Fiona and families, We were so incredibly and deeply saddened by the news that Beryl has flown into Colin's arms. The service today said it all. She was the best sister, daughter, wife, mother, cousin, friend, aunt, in-law, neighbour, nurse, colleague and grandma that anybody could EVER ask for. Beryl. Salt of the earth. What a Darling, We will all miss her so very much. Beryl was a nursing student in Taranaki in 1960 age five or six the first time I remember meeting her. What a sense of humour! What a character! We just LOVED them. Beryl and Colin welcomed us into their home often, incredible hosts, best senses of humour and always straight from the shoulder. I toured to the Taranaki Arts festival because just knowing they were there and that Beryl and Colin had my back. True friends. My parents, Ruth and Sol were also big fans, and my sister Esther, my partner Francine and I all admired and loved her deeply. I once ran into Beryl and Colin in Matakana, just by chance, they were on a motor home trip and it was fortuitous. We chuckled and laughed, hugged (no-one hugs like Beryl!) and told stories and it just felt SO good to see them, always. I didn’t want to leave, we were so happy in their company, such easy, staunch, fun, and grounding folks. I loved that encounter. Beryl was REAL. A rare diamond. Francine and I are both so terribly sorry for this awful loss. A truly gaping hole. These are white lilacs in her memory. I’ll miss you always Beryl, dear, life-long friend and whanau. Sending our Biggest Hugs and Love to you all. deb in Toronto
What a beautiful send off for such an amazing woman! Your tributes showed the true essence of Beryl, who will be for everlasting in our memories. (Really good ones!) Take care of yourselves whanau, and whilst we were not able to be there in person, (Which was a bummer!) we were there in spirit and watching on from afar! Beryl had such a zest for life and will always be remembered in our hearts! She is now with the man of her dreams! Arohanui Shelley, Mike, Logan, Maddy & Poppy, and Sophie xxx
