Both Sean and I were so very sad to hear about dear Hazel's passing. We met her and John through my parents and kept in touch ever since. We enjoyed several holidays in New Zealand where Hazel and John were so hospitable and welcomed us ( and our little baby Bronte) in their home in Pittone Road. I can remember Hazel showing me around her beautiful garden and then us all having a walk on the very large paddock. Hazel was an excellent cook and she and Sean would chat about home baked cooking. It was also good to see Hazel and John in the UK and reciprocate the hospitality. Hazel was an amazing lady who lived life to the full. RIP lovely lady. XX Thinking of you all. Clare and Sean

To the Gawler Family. Sorry we were unable to attend Hazel's funeral today. I have fond memories of my Home Economics teacher back at Okato College. I think i may have been one of her pet students! I still make her souffle omelets to this day and so I will think of her every time I whip one up. Condolences to you all. A lovely lady - May she rest in Peace Trish and Mark

So sorry to read of Hazel's passing. I remember her as a vibrant, enthusiastic teacher of Home Ecc, Cooking and Sewing at Okato College.
