I always knew him as Uncle Pinch though I still don't really know why he was called that . He was always very kind when we saw him at Eldo House when he returned from his travels . I still have the wooden rhinoceroses and crocodile he brought me back from Zambia when I was young . When I got older he used to just give me a drubbing at tennis ! He was a true gentleman and leaves behind a lovely family who I am honoured to be part of . RIP Uncle Pinch

As a child i would get confused when Dad would say he was going to ring Ronald Macdonald. He was so proud to know the real Ronald Macdonald. You were a great friend to my Dad and it is lovely that have remained friends with Mum. I hope you are up there having a good old catch up with Dad with a few beers, i can almost hear all the stories being told.

Thank you Ron for having been our friend. You lived an amazing life, full of love for Rahima, your children and your grandchildren. You love for sport and being active in tennis almost until your last day, came a close second to your love for those close to you. Your positive attitude, especially over the last 3 years, is an example for us all. Rest in peace dear friend.

Remembering happy memories of when I knew Pinch back in Ayrshire. we were the same Vintage, and thought of him as a " Step-brother". So pleased he and Rahima came to visit us in Fife. He would love having his family around him in his last years. Full of fun and laughter till the end! Thinking of Rahima and all his family at this very sad time. Very best wishes, Philip and Linda Mould, ( Nee Stewart, sister of Donald and Sister -in- law to Sheena)

Uncle Ron was an amazing person. Forever smiling, laughing and chatting. He imparted a bit of knowledge wherever he went. All conversations with him were intriguing and often amusing. You will be greatly missed my uncle. It was a pleasure knowing you. May your soul rest in eternal peace. We mourn you deeply Uncle.

Ronald Macdonald was a wonderful human being, he was intelligent, funny, kind and respectful to all people he came across during his life. Ronald was brought up in Troon, Scotland but went to work in Zambia as a young man and did so much in that country to develop the skills and professionalism of Zambian surveyors. He also worked in Fiji and New Zealand as a highly respected Chartered Surveyor. Ronald was very good at sport, he played football well, was a competent golfer and loved playing tennis. Ronald loved meeting people, he had a great sense of humour, with a bit of daredevil spirit and a very positive outlook on life. Anyone who met him always left feeling better than they had beforehand. Ronald was my brother and good friend and I will miss him dearly.
