My forever friend..... I shall miss you. "when I go, don't learn to live without me, just learn to live with my love in a different way. And if you need to see me, close your eyes, or look in your shadow when the sun shines. I'm there. Sit with me in the quiet and you will know that I did not leave. There is no leaving when a soul is blended with another. When I go, don't learn to live without me, just learn to look for me in the moments. I will be there. " " When I die give what's, left of me away to children and old men that wait to die. And if you need to cry, cry for your brother walking in the street beside you. I want to leave you something, something better than words or sounds. Look for me in people I've known or loved, and if you can't give me away, at least let me live in your eyes and not in your mind. And when you need me, put your arms around anyone and give them what you need to give me. You can love me best by letting hands touch hands, and by letting go of children that need to be free. Love doesn't die, people do. So, when all that's left of me is love, give me away." Morag, Fiona, Greg and Moira's boys..... I can just hear your fearless mom and gran saying this..... Sending all my love. It was a privilege to call her "friend".
Dearest Moira , our beautiful friend, thank you for enriching our lives with your inspiration, wisdom, zest for life, kindness and generosity. It's been a privilege to call you friend. Thank you for the memories, the love, the fun and the laugher. You are a legend and will live on in our hearts forever. "Nothing loved is ever lost and you were loved so much" Brian and Hillary
Dear Morag, Greg, Ollie and Ry, Fi, Che and Luca. Today I would like to pay tribute to a great woman, your mother, grandmother, my neighbour, and friend Moira Niven. From the moment I met Moira, her energy and passion captivated me, her love for learning was infectious, and her quick wit highlighted that I would never win a debate. Our years living next door, were such a blessing. She was my eyes and ears and a constant ball of energy towards life . She was a fabulous neighbour, and we constantly tried to win over Toya! She was an incredible lady, and what an incredible 80 years! Rag and Fi, your last few months have been challenging- but your Mum definitely installed a strength in you both, to manage these hard times and a passion to remember her by! Look back at your lifetime of memories together and smile! She was a phenomenal woman! With you Always Debs
Dear Rag & Fi Your Mom was a very special lady, who will truly be missed by so many. I have really fond memories of the times we all spent together as an extended family, both in South Africa and trips to NZ. She had such a zest for life, always laughing, and such an interesting person to have a proper chat with. I'm so happy that she was able to spend her final years surrounded by you both, and your boys, as a proud Granny. I know she must have adored this time with you all. Lots of love to you all as you celebrate her life. Jono, Ann-Louise, Juliet & Genna
Moira was the best of the best. She was fearless, brave and strong, but her heart was loyal and true . I believe she influenced so many and I count myself privileged to have been one. She was a true friend. She will live on in everyone who knew her, making us nicer people, stronger, kinder, wiser. Remembered with love always. Margie Jones, South Wales.
Dear Morag & Fiona Your mom was a very special lady who influenced many people's lives far and wide. Her enthusiasm and positive zest for life was a true inspiration. Her generosity of sharing her wisdom, encouragement to read books, to never stop learning and to live life to the fullest is what I will always remember of Moira. With love from Angela Curry
Dear Morag, Greg, Ollie, Ry, Fiona, Che and Luca. As we remember our dearest Moira we hold on to all the treasured memories of a life that touched so many people and brought light and love into our lives. Moira’s laugh was infectious - with a hint of naughtiness - and her ability to tell stories and keep you enthralled was inimitable. I especially loved it when she added a conspiratorial twist to embellish on an already outrageous take. Moira was a very important person in my Mums life and I will always appreciate the love and kindness she showed her when she went through some difficult years of being alone. Somewhere, someone wrote “never trust a person who doesn’t like animals” and in Moira’s case we have an abundance of trust as her love for animals was clearly seen from many angles. She will leave a void in our lives but Always be in our hearts ………… Your Mother is always with you! She’s the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street. She’s the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick, the fragrance of life itself. She’s the cool hand on your brow when you’re not feeling well. She’s your breath in the air on a cold winters’ day. She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the colors of a rainbow. She is Christmas morning. Your mother lives inside your laughter. She’s the place you come from, your first home. She’s the map you follow with every step you take. She’s your first love, your first friend, even your first enemy. But nothing on Earth can separate you. Not time. Not space. Not even death. Lots of love to you ask as you celebrate your darling Mum, Jan and Gavin Swanson
Dear Morag and Fi, Your mom was such an elegant, kind, intelligent and loving mom, mom-in-law and granny. She was always so proud of you all and her beautiful smile lit up the room whenever she was with you. I shall always remember her smile and I often catch a glimpse of it in your four gorgeous boys who look like her in so many ways. I also remember how much she loved and cared for all animals. Cherish the happy memories of a very special lady who gave so much, loved so deeply and raised two beautiful daughters of whom she loved to the moon and back. Much love, The Cookes xxxxxx
