Peacefully in the early hours on Saturday 2nd July 2022. Dearly loved and cherished husband of the late Freda. Loved father and father-in-law of Phillip (dec), Maree and Philip White, Jocelyn and Peter Gascoigne, Paul (dec), Gerardine and David Wood, and Greg and Sonya. Loved grandad Kevin of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A requiem mass will be held at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Hawera on Thursday 7th July 2022 at 11:00 am, after which Kevin will be laid to rest with Freda at the Hawera cemetery. Rosary will be prayed at St Joseph’s church on Wednesday evening at 7:00pm.

To all of Kevin's Family my sincere sympathy in your loss , always his smiling face , and love of Freda and family . a recent friend to me and Kevin will always be remembered sitting in his Church seat . May he rest in Peace . Amen
To all the Hurley whanau we offer our thoughts at this sad time. Kevin and Freda were wonderful neighbours and our lives were blessed by having shared their friendship and the friendship of their whanau. Love to all.
I will write but in the meantime, how lucky we were to have Uncle Kevin and Aunty Freda as our uncle and aunt, who gave us so many very happy memories of holidays on the farm, growing up, with all of our cousins for a big extended family/whanau. I never wanted to leave! The three brothers are all together again now, catching up, and Kevin is with his beloved Freda. I expect Nana is baking them sponge cakes. My love and deepest condolences to you all, on behalf of myself, Dominic and Aunty Marina, it's very very hard to lose a lovely dad, as I know too well. Arohanui, much love, and I'm so sorry we won't be there to give you a hug in person.

It was a great privilege to be Parishioners at Patea when Kevin and Freda were active members of our Parish. What a great example they set. Amazing effort to attend Rosary Group even when residing in Hawera .Fond memories of a hardworking and faithful man. May he have his Eternal reward. Condolences to all the family .
