Mr Manfred, I take solace in having the privilege to know you. A humble man with a cheeky smile. You will always hold a special place in my heart as an extended part of my family. I called today to check in and see how you and Engelina were and was devastated to learn of your passing. When I have a croquette I will think fondly of you and our conversations we would have while you visited Engelina at work. I hope you rest peacefully. I worked for Engelina and Manfred at Arthur Toye Fabrics in Eruera St for 7 years in the '90s. Manfred was a real gentleman and a great boss. He loved to tell stories about his life, how he loved his cars and driving. They would often do a day trip to Wellington for auction treasures. He racked up afew speeding tickets in the process but was most put out when he got pulled over while driving on the autobahn for going "too slow". He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him especially me as I thought of him as a Father. Love you always Manfred x
