31.1.1938 - 22.7.2022. Sadly passed away at Annie Brydon Lifecare Hawera on Friday 22nd July 2022. Cherished wife and best friend of Harold for 63 years. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Marie, Denise and Kelvin Hancock, Joanne Chadwick and Warren, Mark and Debbie Hicks. Precious Nana to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Annie Brydon for their love and care of mum. “A mother holds her children’s hands for a while, their hearts forever.” A service to celebrate Edith’s life will be held at St Joseph’s Catholic Church Hawera, on Tuesday 26th July 2022 commencing at 11 am, after which she will be laid to rest at the Hawera cemetery.

My dearest Nana. It breaks my heart that I can’t be there to say goodbye. When I visited you last month, I really didn’t think it would be the last time. I hope that you are at peace and I know you will be looking over grandad until the day he is reunited with you.
