Part 1: Jai Jalaram Bapa, Sai Ram, Mangal Mandir, kohlo, dayamaya, Mangal Mandir Kholo Jeevan van a-ti ti vegge vatavyu, Dwar oo-bho sishu bholo Dayamaya, Mangal Mandir, Kohlo… My memories of Mama and Mami. When we were young, we used to stay at Mama’s house in Jalalpore for holidays. We found a lot of excitement and enjoyment when we visited. We lived in a village and Japalpore was in the city so it was always busy and vibrant. Mami would especially make delicious foods of all types and both Mama and Mami made us feel welcome. As a young child I never used to go anywhere without my Ba, and the only place I used to go without Ba was at Mama’s house. After coming to the UK to live, whenever we visited India, I would give Mama and Mami a present. Mami used to say ‘I cannot take such gifts from my niece but you should accept gifts from me. If I give anything for my niece then that is the same as me feeding 100 Brahmin’s!’ Mami would never accept the gifts so I would hide them somewhere and then tell her when we left. Mama would greet me saying ‘Mari Dikri Shanti aavi’ and give me his kind blessing ‘mara ashirvaad tamara sathe che’ Mama, those blessings and your voice will forever remain in my mind and heart and I will never forget those words.

Part 2: Dear Mama, Dear Ba, both brother and sister grew up with a lot of love for each other. As Grandmother couldn’t afford milk for both children, Grandmother used to say let Mama drink one day and Ba would drink the next day. Both would accept and take turns. Ba and Mama were very close and very kind. Both Brother and Sister had so much love and a bond that could never be broken. If Mama ever became ill, Ba would worry a lot and always pray for the return of his good health. Whenever Ba had any problems then she would tell Mama and he would be very helpful and give her confidence that all would be better soon. As Mama enjoyed eating fish, Ba would pick nice quality fish for Mama and take to Jalalpore. Now both Brother and sister are together in heaven and they must be talking to each other smiling and reflecting memories looking down on their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Bhai would take Mama every Thursday to Baba’s satsung. When Mama took his last breath this was on Baba and Jalaram Bapa’s day – Thursday. They especially came to take Mama to heaven with them. We pray to Bhagavan to keep Mama in your arms and for Mama to be at peace with you. We pray to Bhagavan to give strength to Mama’s family to overcome such a painful and sad loss. Mama tamari Shanti na pranam. Om Shanti

Jai Shree Krishna, Dear Momata, I will always remember our times together when we visited India and stayed with you at Jalalpore, New Zealand and with us in the UK. You are a gentleman of the ultimate form. Despite your great achievements in life you remained a humble person throughout. Everyone knew you and would refer to you as Narsinhbhai Master. In India if ever we got a Rickshaw we would say your name to the driver and he would know you straight away and take us to Jalalpore. We will all miss you but will continue to draw inspiration from your kindness, humility, hard work, intelligence and so much more. Kiran (Cheltenham, UK)

Dear Mamato I have many fond memories of you Mamato. The memory I especially remember is the time you visited us all in England. I remember how you came with us to London and we went on the London Eye. You then rode the tube with us afterwards. It's a memory I will always remember. You've lived an amazing life and accomplished so many things. Your courage and bravery shown as a freedom fighter is something our family won't forget. How you helped so many people during this time is truly incredible. Mamato, you will be missed by us all, but your memories and teachings will live on. Om Shanti 🕉️ 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
