Audrey Frances Smith

12 February 192626 July 2022

Passed away peacefully aged 96 at Kensington Court Rest Home. We thank them so much for their wonderful care of her in her last years. Dearly loved mother and mother in law of John and Sue. Loved Nana of Daniel & Amelia, Andrew and Melissa, Matthew and Jade, Amanda and Greg. Treasured ‘Nana Audrey’ to Lucas, Austin and Macey. We will all really miss our genuinely caring mum and nana so very much.
She will also be missed by her Taranaki family, loved sister Val who survives her and her husband Walter (deceased) and their daughters Margaret and Carolyn. Ben, Lloyd & Craig, sons of her loved sister Alma and husband Joe (both deceased) and Jeannie, Sharyn, Jeff and Ross, children of her ‘big brother’ George and wife Doreen (both deceased).
And will also be sorely missed by her many friends and spiritual family, as she was known for her love of God’s Word and as a tireless voluntary worker by many congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses nationwide.
Also, as a founding member along with her beloved Jack, she was admired and now farewelled by JAE Group members around New Zealand. The ‘A’ in the JAE is still with us in our memories.
Sleep peacefully our dearest ‘Babes’, now safe in Jehovah’s arms awaiting the Resurrection (John 5:28)

I want her back! Looking forward to showing you my dogs in the new system and showing them your Canary’s!

We are happy to see you on the camera & hear the service. We are sad that wonderful living people, like sister Audrey, get sick & die (horrible blunt words). Paradise, resurrection, eternal life - that sounds better, Jehovah's book of life.

A truly beautiful overview of Audrey’s Life. Thank you as a family for the presentation of music photos and memories of her life for almost a century. Audrey was a real support to Jack in both his ministry and work. It has been our privilege to be associated with Audrey and Jack and to be included as extended family. We have always appreciated their example for us in the traveling work. Rex has fond memories of them as a stand out couple on the circuit work when he served them as a young pioneer and later to us both as we followed their footsteps. All our love and sympathy on this day. Rex and Sheree

Heartfelt condolences to the family. Jack and Audrey visited our congregation in Auckland when I was a little girl. Then in 1986, I had the privilege of being billeted with Audrey for my pioneer school at Mt Roskill. What a lovely lady and faithful sister. So many to welcome back and soon we hope. Thinking of you all and good to know Jehovah is your comfort at this time. Belinda Mitchell

It was a great pleasure to know Audrey. Our time in Kaikoura was enhanced by her loyal presence. Always gracious, always a Christian, always caring. We enjoyed being members of the JAE group for some 20 years and so enjoyed her company and wisdom when we met. Such a humble person for someone who has done so much for so many through starting and supporting JAE.. With much love to John and Sue, Daniel Matthew Amanda and Andrew From Lance and Karen Green in Whanganui

Sister Audrey Smith was a delightful and faithful sister. Always strengthening our congregation by her presence and comments. And I know that she has helped strengthen other brothers and sisters faith, by her example of loyalty and service to Jehovah. I’m glad that I got to know her within our congregation. My thoughts and prayers go out to all her family and friends. Because I know she will be sadly missed. But I know that she is safe in Jehovah’s memory.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences John, Sue and family over Audrey’s death. It was our privilege to host Jack and Audrey as our CO in the mid 70’s. Their kindness and generosity toward us and our children, both during the visit and at the 1978 Peace On Earth International convention, are enduring memories. Knowing our young son collected matchboxes Jack, despite being the convention overseer, made arrangements for us to visit convention admin to collect the huge bag of foreign matches he and Audrey had gone out of their way to collect in their travels overseas. Their humility and Audrey’s kindness to Lyn endeared them to us and has given us the confidence to share our home with many more circuit overseers over the years since then. We cannot see a JAE van without thinking of them and the impact they had on us early on in our theocratic journey. Lots of love Brian and Lyn
