Tributes

My mother (nee Nancy Bockman) first cousin. I think I have a 45rpm which Owen gave me of him playing in his band in the 60's.

Hey Nicky, Ian, Phil and Matthew (and extended family). Sending all my love to you guys at this sad time. I haven't seen Uncle Owen for many years, but I have such fond memories of him. He was gentle and kind with his own distinct sense of humour. I never heard him raise his voice or say a bad word about anyone, he was an absolute gentleman with a smile that could bring about world peace. It has been really special to be able to watch his funeral service online, to share in the laughter and the tears. Nicky and Ian, you guys have been amazing to Owen and I know he loved living with you. I loved the photo selection, he really enjoyed life and pursued many hobbies and passions. If you could pick someone who you would say has lived a happy life...it would be Uncle Owen. A poem I love by Mary Elizabeth Frye. "Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush, of quiet birds in circling flight. I am the soft starlight at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there; I did not die." Rest in peace Uncle Owen xx

Our condolences to the Nyberg Family. We have known Owen for many years through music - he played bass guitar in the dance band that I was singing in - Limerick. I always found him to be happy and easy to get along with. We are sorry that we won't be able to attend his funeral. R.I.P.

I have known Owen for many years and always found him a happy and friendly man and a devoted dancer. Unfortunately I haven’t seen him anymore over the last 5 years. I wish the family lots of strength in the difficult time. I am sure that wherever he is, still dances and be cheerful.
