Dear Dave and Liz, We only ever met Dad on FaceTime but every holiday we shared he was there, asking questions & being involved. He was very interested in your lives. Keep up your conversations with him.
We have such lovely memories of your beautiful Dad. Visiting Rotorua won't be the same without calling in to say hi to Peter at his beautiful home and garden. He was always so pleased to see Liz and David's friends. We'll also miss saying hi on the phone too, as Bill and I were often with Liz and David when Peter would make his every Saturday morning call to them. Our thoughts are with all Peter's family and friends. Big hugs from Bill Aird and Margie Elvey in Australia.
I shall miss Peter and our chats over cars and the stock exchange,he was such a lovely guy and a pleasure to talk to.
I am so sorry my dear cousin Peter Findlay has passed away. Peter an my mum Joan Thurston nee Betts were great friends all their lives. Allan & Elsie Betts nee Walsh was Aunt Linda's Sister. Mum was the only child so she would spent time with Peter in Auckland. We had holidays in Rotorua and Peter would arrange for the family to stay at the Motels and arrange a trip on Judd Davies boat to go to Mokoia Island. Danny and I enjoyed calling on Peter and his loving cat. We both enjoyed talking cars!!! We have Vintage Cars and others. Enjoyed going out for lunch. Peter always knew the best places to go. He always kept up with technology with his hearing and reading which was amazing. One visit we had our Daughter and grandchildren called. The first thing he did was show us the Family Photos at the front door and other memories of his amazing life which he was so proud of. Loved helping him with the Family Tree for the book Peter wrote. Sending old photos I had etc. Peter was a special person, always interested in what you were doing. Will miss the chats on the phone. We are sorry we will be unable to attend Peters Funeral but we will watch on Live Stream. Deepest Sympathy to you all. Sharyn & Danny Hurley Kaponga Taranaki
