Tributes

Sorry I couldn't be st the service but watched the service. You welcomed me and my family when we moved to Warner from the UK and when I moved home after my separation you were there to help collect furniture for my new home. My fondest memory was the night I cooked toad in the hole and I nearly burnt the house down .... you always reminded me of that meal whenever I saw you. Rest in peace thank you for your friendship xxx

NORD-NORDY-NAUGHTY-BAD SANTA…Just a few names we use to call the bro on the lines..No doubt there’s a few more out there but all in good pun!I had Bad Santa drive the Hiab truck for us on a few of our Transmission Lines Projects on and off over the years.Always a laugh when he’s on site!A genuine “Good Bugger” that was always willing to help out and throw a remark or two in there for good measure! Many of times we talked about our Whanau to each other and the joy he had with the kids and Moko’s living at home and the fact he was trying to build his little “Papa Kainga” at home for his little “Santa Helpers”…You will dearly be missed my bro, sorry I couldn’t make it,would have loved to meet your beautiful wife and kids and Mokos that you so dearly loved and talked about with me!Love you Brother…Until we meet again Bad Santa-Keep the laughs coming ole mate!…Moemoe Ra E Hoa🙏🏽

Crumb was always up for a prank. So, long time ago there was a lot in the Times about the need for DUCK crossings in town. So 3 concerned citizens held a meeting at the pub and decided they would help out. Late one night they arrived in town by boat. After timing the security passes they went to the street and armed with stamps the shape of cartoon duck footprints and a big saucer of white paint they put duck footprints all over the place. That was 31st of March. The next day April fool's day. Only really one bit in the paper about that. They must have helped. We had some fun. See you Crumb. Russel.

A good friend back in the '70's. My father began delivering bread for Joe so Gavin and I got to know each other. I couldn't say a bad word about Gavin and I can't think of anyone who didn't like him.
