WAKELEY, Melva, (Formally Rankin). After a brave battle, Melva went to be with her Lord, and reunited with her loved ones, on Thursday 18th August 2022. Loved wife of the late Eric, and Charles. Caring and loving mother of Stephen, Craig, and Annette. Mother in-law of Sandra, Jan, and Shane. A loved Grandma to all her adored grand and great grandchildren. Loved sister of the late Elaine and Bernie Robinson and all their extended family. A service to celebrate Melva’s life will be held at the Elim Community Church, 96 Elles Road Invercargill, on Friday the 26th August 2022 at 1pm. I have only found out that Melva has passed on. I had wondered why I had not heard a word from her or Charles . I only met her one time when I visited NZ in 2007 but she was such a lovely lady. The long road walked is destined to have many remarkable tales. You taught me the true meaning of " love and light" . When we meet again we'll share our tales for sure. Dear Mel you will remain the most remarkable tale I'll ever tell.

Sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved Melva. She certainly was a remarkable woman who could turn her hand to pretty much anything. I recall her wicked sense of humour, genujine heart for others and her amazing singing voice. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
So sorry to read of Melvas passing , I know she battled ill health for a long period of time but it still hurts when the time comes . A lovely kind woman with a great faith in her Lord , I can still hear her lovely clear voice and laughter . She loved Charles , her family and friends and of course , the wee dogs .
