I am so sorry to hear of your passing John. You were a very funny man. I have known you for a number of years in the Insurance Industry. RIP. Love Kim.

Whenever he dropped in he always cheered the place up. It was always a pleasure to see him.

There was never a dull moment hanging around with Dad. Nothing was off-limits in order to provoke a reaction - good, bad or otherwise. Irreverent, shocking, funny, ribald and rude. A massive heart and generous beyond measure. It was crazy just how many people this man knew from the many circles he travelled. An intense curiosity for people and their stories ensured that he touched many lives. I shall miss him greatly as will all the family. An indomitable spirit.

We cannot express how shocked and saddened we were to hear the news that our dear friend John had passed. We now have a big empty space in our lives but we have our beautiful Jean to help carry on his memory. You gave us so many happy memories over the years we knew you and will be forever thankful for the mentorship and friendship that enriched our lives. We will never forget you John and promise to keep Jean safe and loved 💕

So sadly missed brother-in-law. I have known John for almost 60 years, and what a gap in our lives. John was always over the top and totally outrageous. He could be relied on to embarrass us all, and we loved him for that! Truly one of a kind. The mould has been broken. He is irreplaceable.

On Tuesday 23 of August our life changed for ever when our dear John Flyger passed away. Aww John where do I start. You were the man with the biggest heart and voice. You could change the mood in a room in second and not always in a good way 😂. Your sense of humour was one of a kind and something that many people will miss. You always had endless knowledge and worldly stories to tell. John I thank you for the love and the beautiful life that you and mum created together and how you loved Briar and Nicholas as they were your own. Life will never be the same without you. John you were one very special person and that has definitely shown over the last few days as everyone hearts are so broken. John I promise to look after your Jeanie for you, we love you so much and we are extremely heartbroken to have you take so soon. John you had so many more adventures to have with mum and Briar and Nicholas had so many more stories to hear. John fly high and for goodness sake don’t cause too much trouble up there. Love you lots and lots ❤️❤️❤️❤️
