Robert or Bobby,as we called him, was my cousin of about the same age as me. We grew up together as we lived in the same street in Seacombe on the Wirral Peninsula close to the river Mersea and across from Liverpool. We went to the same junior school and were good mates . I missed seeing him when he emigrated to New Zealand . He came back and worked, like my Dad, for the local bus company. Then he found the love of his life and left again for New Zealand. But he kept in touch and his was usually the first Christmas card we received each year. Our thoughts are with the family. Bob will be sadly missed. Bob was a lovely man, a good father and a loving, supporting husband to Pauline. When i first met Bob in the late 1950s he was courting Pauline, my elder sister. I well remember that he would come to our house and sit on the sofa with her in the front room, while i would be sent in by our parents to play the piano, presumably to ensure good behaviour! I well remember Bob saying to me 'keep playing the piano Elizabeth' as the piano stool had its back to the sofa and i couldn't see what was going on! It was many years before I realised why I was there, and still look back on it and smile. Love and sympathy to all the family from Elizabeth and Peter
