To Pat and family-Dave (Boydy) will to us remain the most influential and memorable person we have had the pleasure of meeting since we joined the Urenui Golf Club back in the early 90's and a fantastic friend away from the club. Apart from being a massive asset to the club he was also a person that would help anybody with anything. A true and fair leader. As far as his ability to sort finances and create finance for the club was concerned, he was second to none. He genuinely had the Midas touch. Farewell to a great friend. Aroha-until we meet again, Dennis and Evelyn.
To Pat and family I send sympathy as you farewell Dave with such memories of his love, care and fun. I hope I speak for Dave's cousins, the 11 who remain from 21 grandchildren who Grandma Mary and Grandad James Boyd welcomed into their family all those years ago, with an always open door - welcome which Dave continued.to extend among us. We all will have different memories of being his cousin, old times, good times, of "belonging". We are family, still, and I join you with sadness at his loss.
Sorry we could not be with you today but have watched the live stream, a great tribute. We only knew Dav for the last three + years when the two of you moved to Parklands ave, however he fitted in well with the great neighbours and although we are not living there now we consider ourselves part of that neighbourhood and enjoyed the times we met. Pat look after your self I know you will be well supported by your families as well as the neighbours. Philip and Maree
On behalf of Daves twenty cousins or what remains of them we send our sincere condolences to Pat and family. Dave will not know this, all the remaining family have had a cousins reunion and have been talking to each other. Thank you David and Pat, Rest in peace.
To Pat and Family Our condolenses to you all. Dave you were always a true gentleman, encouraged others to make their own journey, always listened and gave back sound advice and always maintained your smile. A good bastard.
To Pat and all the family. My sincerest condolences and sympathies to you all. A great mate and friend over a long time. It all started during Dave's time and mine in Whanganui (Dave in the Police and myself in the Courts). The friendship resumed when Dave and I were managing Property Brokers real estate branches in Waipukurau and Dannevirke. Many a story and experiences were gained in our travels around the country and in Aussie. So sorry I cannot attend tomorrow but will be thinking of you. I would love to tell some of those stories. Dave had a lifetime of them. A good bloke and a bit of a legend has passed by! Kerry
