There is a huge hole in my life where you once stood Uncle Maurice. I take comfort in knowing you are now with my mum & dad, Aunty Vera & Uncle Mac, and Uncle Bob. I will miss you but now you can start enjoying life all over again!! Love you always xoxo

I was so sorry to learn that Maurice is no longer with us. With us living in Wellington and a family we of 5 children, we didn't get to see much of our extended family in the Waikato. Maurice's passing also means the end of a generation. Rest in peace Maurice. With much love Chris John 14 :1-4

My uncle Maurice is in my childhood memories from around 5, when Maurice and Fred appeared on tv with my Dad Bob playing in a band called Harmokiwis - very cool to have your family famous on tv. The band gear was stored at our house in Knighton Rd and I remember playing around with a mic stand one day and having it come sliding down and split my finger open. I think I told Dad some other story about my finger because we were not allowed to touch the band gear. I have fond memories of visiting Maurice & Cynthia at their great council house on the riverbank - with Tip the black and white dog. The adults probably sent us kids off to walk the dog along the river path... Then we all grow up and get busy with life somehow and loose those important early connections. I feel a loss with the passing of my uncle Maurice

My first reaction to this sad news was that i no longer have an Uncle in my life. But then i remembwred some of the wonderful times i had with Maurice when i spent time in Glen Massey, he was my most educated uncle. I remember Maurice with much love and affection mainly for his frienship and how he taught me about the hills and animals, if you didn't know he and Bob and another guy whose name I don't remember were a trio who played harmonica's, they call themselves The harmonikiwis. We spent time together when I was 10 11 12, he told me how to shoot a .308 and scared the hell out of me he took me up into the hills showed me how to be responsible when hunting and ypu know Tip was always there. I've got to say some of the best times I ever had in Glen Massey were because of Maurice he just had a natural way about him there was never imposing, he was a pretty humble guy. I remember all the nights listening to talent quests with the guys usually winning the music section with some awesome harmonicas.Ttlen he was busy with romance and marriage but he was still a very significant role model in my life and i am so thankful for that. May God give you erternal peace Maurice, much love from Rod McPherson
