Hello to those I've met and those I haven't. My mother, Mildred Thompson Halle was a first cousin of Albert's. We (my parents, siblings and I) had the pleasure of getting to know Albert (& Jocelyn) in 2010, in Oregon (USA). We felt great kinship with Albert and Jocelyn since our first meeting. We kept up with them through Skype and had many wonderful Skype visits over the years, as well as emails and Christmas letters. It is with heartfelt sympathy that I reach out to Jocelyn, and Albert's children, grandchildren and all extended family. I regret not getting to know you all before this sad day. I hope we can enjoy some correspondence moving forward. My husband Marty and I send our condolences. Love to all, Liz (Halle) Kuna
So sorry to hear of Albert’s passing… the last link with that generation of the Thompson family. With love and sympathy to Jocelyn and family.
We will really miss you Albert. You always tried to stay in touch phoning us every Christmas. We were sad when you stopped coming to Ireland. You lived a really interesting life and were always interested in those you met. I know you will be sadly missed by everyone.
Gabi's words have already said a lot. I would like to add something else: I was delighted to have the opportunity to meet Albert on his 90th birthday. His life story, his naturalness and his humour left deep traces in just one day. So deep that one can never forget them. Albert, you will have a permanent place in my memories. But not only there, but also in my heart.
We last saw you in person on your 90th birthday and via skype on your 95th birthday. Out of our sight, but forever close to our heart! Thank you for an extraordinary friendship from one end of the world to the other.
Wonderful memories of Albert who loved to come back to Northern Ireland and visit family. He was great at keeping in touch. Sincere sympathy to all the family and Jocelyn. With you all in spirit. Love from Janette and Family
With fond memories of Uncle Albert’s visits home to N Ireland. A long life well lived. From Hazel, John and Rosemary
