Tributes

It has been many years since I have been in touch with Phil’s family. I heard recently from my swim coach Barry Gardner who was told by my former swim mate Carl Bay that sadly Phil had passed away. I remember him as a young, fit, handsome man who was an amazing swimmer and a great team mate. He was there to encourage and spur us on when we were discouraged with our efforts in the pool. He always wanted everyone to do their best. My sincere condolences to Sue and their family for this loss of a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. May you be comforted by your memories that span so many years. God bless and lift you up at. This time. Loloma Bibi, Margy Smith.

It is difficult to put into words what Phil meant to so many of us. We met Phil as teenagers and through a shared passion for sport became good friends. We shared what are still some of the best years of my life skiing/snowboarding, windsurfing and mountain biking. Phil, thank you for those years and thank you Sue, Andy and Matt for sharing Phil with us all. The world is a lesser place without Phil in it. A true legend who lived life in the best possible way and had such a positive impact on the lives of everyone around him.
