On behalf of the Bourke family I would like to send our thoughts to you all . My father Michael knew most of the McLeods and had many memories of the McLeods in Eltham. RIP The Bourke families
Very sorry to hear of Alwyn’s sudden passing. I was disappointed at not be able to attend her funeral. I will remember Alwyn for her generosity, her interest in things Scottish and her sense of humour. Every time I make my Xmas cake I will think of her as it is a recipe she gave me when we were teaching together at Moturoa School. Rest In Peace. Shirley Plimmer
So heartbreaking to hear of Alwyn's passing. I have so many happy and funny memories. She was a person shrouded in mystery, with a heart of gold. I will miss her terribly. So pleased I was able to work with her at Moturoa school, and will always remember the wonderful times within out circle of friends, of which Alwyn was very important. Jenny Ropitini
So sad to hear of Alwyn's passing, condolences to the whanau. Reflecting on memories of Pembroke Street, as youngsters. R.I.P Alwyn Dianne Cairns
Alwyn is a much loved member of our Reading Recovery Whanau. There are many things we will miss about our dear colleague and friend…. -Her sage wisdom about lots of different things in teaching and in life, Alwyn was wise and astute. -Her cheeky laugh and her great sense of humour! -Her tucked away talents and interests… bagpipes and the royal family. -Her love and care for animals. -Her high teaching expertise that saw many children become readers and writers over many years. Our hearts go out to the children and team at Waitara Central that worked with Alwyn and that will be missing her greatly now. She had lovely relationships with her tamariki and she was highly valued by them. Alwyn is in our thoughts and our love goes to her Whanau and all who had her in their circle.
Alwyn will be sadly missed within the Reading Recovery community. She touched the lives of many young children. Rest in Peace..
