Passed away on Tuesday afternoon, 31 March 2020, in hospital and in the company of nursing staff, after a rapidly degenerating heart condition. Joyce was in her 89th year: wife of Dr. John Jelleyman (now deceased), mother of Peter, Paul, Timothy and Ruth (Opai), mother-in-law to Christine, Judy, Elizabeth and Steve, grandmother to Juanita (Madden), Danielle (Mitchell) and Reuben; Luke and Sarah; Caitlyn and Hamish; Aurelia and Jasper, great-grandmother to Audrey. Joyce was sister to Lilian, an aunt, and a great-aunt too. She was friend to many and will be greatly missed by all.

Joyce was known for her laughter, her sincere love for people, and her impish ways.

The family especially thanks staff at Ons Dorp Retirement Village and Waitakere Hospital for their care of Joyce. It was very fitting, we think, that someone who gave up her career to raise her own family should herself pass from this life in the company of caring nurses.
