Varaoa Mary Kainuku passed away peacefully at home in Auckland on Friday, October 2, 2020 at the age of 90. She was born in Amuri Aitutaki and raised by Rev. Port Moresby. She was happily married in Aitutaki to Metua Tamati Kainuku at the age of 23 on 20 January, 1954. Varaoa is survived by seven children and her grandchildren. She was a precious mother and grandmother who was much loved and will be very sadly missed by all her family. Her character is present in our everyday life and her legacy will live on through her children and whose lives she touched. Though she’s gone from home; she resides in our hearts.
