We send our love and deep sympathy to the Lawlor clan and to Irene's many friends which she made along her way in life. We were lucky to spend a little time with her in California, and to share her good humor and skills in hat-making. She touched all of us with her grace.

Irene was such a hoot. I am so grateful to the fates that allowed our paths to cross. Thank you, Irene, for your wonderful sense of humour and for the beautiful, lasting network of people you fostered during your time here. I’m so glad you got on that boat with Rex. Hoping you are now warm, reunited in the warm sun of the eternal Hawaiian holiday, Mai Tai in your hand.

Sending my sympathy @ condolences to Jocelyn, Ian & their families. I remember our family friendship many years ago when we were at primary school in Manaia, Taranaki & had to acknowledge it. We now live in Waipu, Northland too.

Irene was a dear friend to my mother, Ellen Mitchell - always friendly and welcoming, and I did enjoy my conversations with her. My Mum loved their friendship. Sincere sympathy to Irene's family.
