I am so sadden to only have heard of Rob’s passing. Rob was a great employer and workmate for many years to me. I am sorry for your loss as he was a great man who always had a smile on his face even when I stopped in to see him recently he took the time to hear about my recent struggle. R.I.P Rob Cheryl
Adrienne and family. our deepest condolences on the loss of your husband and father.I haven't seen Robert since we ran into each other at the super 15 games at Dunedin a couple of years back. We were the last of the older generation to hold McDonald name. I always have fond memories of his younger days on the farm and a couple of years at gore high school after that we got to catch up not very often but you guys visited us a couple of times when we had shop at pleasant point. Take care you will have heaps of special memories from a very special man. John McDonald
We are saddened to read of Rob's passing as many have said he was a true man of strong faith and character and will be missed. Our thoughts are with you Adrienne & your extended family and we trust the many memories you have will bring comfort. Through the years every time we saw Rob he always greeted us with his warm & welcoming smiles. Julie and Greg
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. From the tributes we have read Rob continued to be the man we knew in the 1970s; joyous, thoughtful and faithful. Geoff and Rae
My deepest sympathies. Very sad indeed.
Hi Adrienne, it's a long time since we've spoken. My memory of Rob goes back to our flatting days. I don't think he had any particular prowess in the kitchen, but he was a thoroughly decent man. At these times the cliche is to say he was a good man. In his case it's true. As one biblical reference has it - a man without guile. Rest in peace, Rob. We'll meet again. We have a lot of catching up to do. Gerald Broome, Ngaruawahia.
Much love to you, Adrienne & family as you face the loss of dear Rob. He was a truly faithful servant of the Lord. May God's love comfort you all. Regards Ralph & Anne-Marie
