So sad to hear of Judith's passing. Her zest for all things Puhoi, the culture and the community, will surely be missed. Our sincere condolences to the family ♥️

Judith was the respected founding president of the Puhoi Historical Society, a generous supporter and promoter of the Puhoi Heritage Museum and a member of the Puhoi Bohemian Dance Group. She was passionate about anything Puhoi, past or present, taking part in almost every social and service group. One of her special interests was the dialect spoken by the first settlers which resulted in a choir singing the Eghalanda Mass at Easter 2016 and the compiling of a collection of songs in the dialect to help keep it alive. Rest in peace and love.

So sad to read of Judith's death. A gracious, warm, welcoming lady. A devoted servant of the Puhoi community with deep knowledge of the unique history of the village. It was her happy place. Rest in Peace. Sue Carnachan

So knowledgeable, so helpful, so kind. Judith's excellent chapter in 'The German Connection' on the Bohemian settlers in Puhoi set the standard for research into German-speaking immigrants in New Zealand. Requiescat in pace.
