Funeral service held at Dil's Funeral Services Hibiscus Coast

Tributes

I met Cian back in 2014 at Millfield. I had the pleasure of spending two years in the same class with Cian during our GCSE’s. We instantly got along, he had an amazing sense of humour, he always kept me laughing especially in our Chemistry class. Although I saw him from time to time after Millfield with the boys, I regret to say I didn’t see him enough. He truly was a lovely human being, I will miss you always my friend. Joseph

Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful and heartfelt service with all of us online. I had the pleasure of meeting Cian at Millfield and then went on to travel with him and Roxy in Vietnam and Thailand. He was the most fun, adventurous and loving guy, I am so glad to have shared what was simply the best time of our lives. We will all miss him so dearly, sending my love and prayers to his family and loved ones at this time xx

Thank you so much for sharing the beautiful service celebrating Cian’s life. I had the privilege of knowing Cian through school and going travelling through Vietnam and a bit of Thailand together. We made so many silly and crazy memories for which I could write books and books about (some more appropriate than others). His infectious cheeky grin and full of life energy and attitude lightening up the darkest of spaces will stay with me forever. Thank you for everything, until we meet again ❤️ Sending all my love and thoughts to Cian’s family and loved ones xxx

Cian was a very special human being who touched the hearts of all who met him. Our son Fin met Cian at Millfield six years ago and it seems to me that the boys enjoyed the very best that friendship has to offer in those intervening years. Fun, kind and courteous, Cian could charm the pants off old and young alike and always seemed to delight in bringing people together. Our whole family is still reeling from this dreadful sadness and of course our thoughts are with Cian's family now and in the coming weeks and months ahead. His memory will shine brightly that's for sure and we will honour him tonight from the other side of the world. With heartfelt love, Isobel, Mike, Jonah, Dylan, Fin and Sorcha Trenouth

Dear Cian, Words can not express our sadness of losing you. Life is cruel at times and you left this world far too soon. We have wonderful memories of the times we have shared. You have been a wonderful friend and will be sadly missed by so many. We will always remember the kind funny,, caring young man, every parent would have been proud to say that’s my son. God bless sweet heart. Love Jane and Allan Jones

We have been privileged to have known Cian through his years at Millfield school, his house share with our son whilst at University in Bristol and his stay with us two summers ago in Cornwall whilst working up savings for his planned move to Dubai. During this time we had the pleasure of seeing the very close friendship group that centred around him that included our son Dominic. This group played and worked together, went trough university and COVID together and moved onto Dubai where again they supported each other as they started their careers and new life in Dubai. Cian was at the heart of this group and his traits of huge determination and focus whether playing rugby, developing his career or having fun, (and boy could he have some fun) inspired those around him. Cian loved life and lived his too short life to the max.Cian loved people and people loved Cian and although Cian has left us all far too early, he will never be forgotten such was his impact on the people who got to know and love him, including Anne and I. Our deepest sorrow and sympathy to his family and close friends who will find the pain hard to bear over the coming days and months. Goodbye Cian, we miss you and will never forget you. Simon and Anne Goodwin.

Cian was the heart of our group of friends here in Dubai. His humour made every bad situation better, as did his hugs. The hole he has left is huge, and will never be filled. We will miss your smile, your wit, your voice and your eclectic style always. Just everything about you Cian. Our hearts are broken and we love and miss you so very much. Rest In Peace our lovely boy. Xxxx

I was fortunate to have spent 7 years of my life growing up alongside Cian in China. All the sports we used to play together, all the classes we shared with each other, all the memories that will never leave my mind. Cian was one of the most charismatic individuals who I had the pleasure of knowing and his charisma was infectious. He would light up any room he was in with his humour and I’m just extremely fortunate to have been able to know him and get so much time with him. I would not be the person I am today without him. I miss you buddy, I really do. Lots of love, Avi

My first meeting of Cian was when we first moved to Bellewood villas in Shanghai. We had just moved in during the summer when no one was around & we were feeling a bit lost. Out of the blue Sandy knocked on our door with a smiling little boy, Cian & a cute little girl Brianna. I remember Cian’s cheeky little grin as I think he was hoping that a little boy his age lived with us which was not the case! Through our years in Shanghai we watched Cian grow & flourish in all his sports, he was a natural all-rounder and a great kid. When he left Dulwich for Millfield, he took this new opportunity & grew into a lovely young man of whom Dave & Sandy can be immensely proud of. All the messages from every corner of the globe is testament to how Cian touched so many lives, he truly was a global citizen but now has come home to rest with his beautiful family. God Bless Cian, Dave, Sandy, Liam & Brianna as well as all the extended family
